This is good if you need to escape from somewhere, but you don't have enough energy to take off, but it's not something you should rely on. The button on the side of the slot can be used to either generate a new Sonic Screwdriver, or delete and existing one in exchange for energy. All new TARDISes will have a Sonic Screwdriver in that slot. Directly above that, is the Sonic Screwdriver slot. Left is North, Right is South, Up is East, and Down is West. The wheel will change which way the TARDIS faces when it lands. The turn-wheel on the lower right is the 'Facing Wheel', named after it's function.
This displays the speed the TARDIS will travel through space, from 1 to 8. The lever directly beside that is the speed lever, which shares a dial on the lower right, out of all five dials. The lever on the very left is the third, and final step of flight.
